|History:||This league consists of two back-to-back events, All-American and Roth, and is available to all women curlers who want to participate.
The All-American event takes place in the first half of the season and is a USWCA-sponsored intra-club event held across the nation. It was started in 1965-66. Teams are limited to one club-rated skip per team. The USWCA furnishes each club with one set of gold pins for the winning rink. This event stands on its own with no points carried over from the Roth event. For more information about the USWCA All-American event, visit the USCWA’s webpage.
The Roth event takes place in the second half of the season and is named after Bernie Roth who is credited with organizing women’s curling at the Milwaukee Curling Club in 1948. Bernie served as the first President of the United States Women's Curling Association for two terms (1947-1949). In 1951, she organized the nation's first mixed bonspiel which was held at our club. She was inducted into the United States Curling Association Hall of Fame in 1996 as a Builder. For more about Bernie Roth, read the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article (PDF file).
